"Our trip to the Galapagos was filled with surprises at each turn. Activities were great, the adrenaline of seeing all the animal life was amazing. My expectations were exceeded every day, and we were just stunned at how much we actually got to see and do in this lovely place!"

Michael Pasoff (Quebec, Canada) Aug 2008 Tortuga

MEET OUR GUIDES:

ACTIVE NEW ZEALAND adventure travel guide
Sebastian Hansen
"Sebastian was absolutely incredible. He made the trip enjoyable for us. Seemed very concerned about meeting the needs of everyone, and I think I learned a little Spanglish from him. He was Awesome!"

South America adventure guiding jobs
Thank you for your interest in a trip leading position with ACTIVE SOUTH AMERICA!

Here is a copy of our official Application for Employment, along with a job description:

Employment Application

Job Description - Trip Leader

Fax, email or post me the application form, along with a copy of your CV/resume (if you haven't already sent one) and a cover letter IN SPANISH that tells me why you should work for us! (By the way, we don't expect your written expression to be perfect in both Spanish and English - we just need to make sure you can get around in both!)

ACTIVE SOUTH AMERICA guides work in Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Costa Rica - mostly Peru. New guides will generally be based in Peru and leading only Jaguar trips there for at least their first season. We prefer guides who are native of the country where they will be guiding so we rarely consider applicants who are not from Peru, Ecuador, Chile or Costa Rica.

As well as fluent English, guides need to speak FLUENT Spanish, OR have conversational level Spanish AND substantial tourism experience or training. Applications from non-Spanish speakers will not be considered.

We will hold your application on file until we start preparing for our next intake - generally around August and April - at which time we will contact you to arrange a phone interview, or to let you know that your application has been unsuccessful.

If you happen to be in New Zealand or South America between now and then, drop me a line to let me know, as we prefer to conduct in-person interviews wherever possible, and NZ and South America are where we hang out!

I look forward to hearing from you!
