"You succeeded with flying colors! Everything that you portrayed is what we experienced. I am absolutely thrilled with our trip. From swimming with sharks to hiking up an active volcano and everything in between, we did it."

"Your guides are the most professional and knowledgable I've encounted. Sebastian rolled with the unexpected and helped the entire group of strangers work like a team. We had a host of crazy circumstances... one backpack didn't make it from Santiago, severly people got stomach problems, one guest left his camera in a restaurant that closed for New Years, there were dietary restrictions I'd never even heard of, we had marathon runners and mortals. Sebastian handled each and every event and guest with professionalism and kept us all together as a unit. This is my TENTH active group trip and I have to say... Sebastian Rocks!!"

Finding the Real Gold in Costa Rica
by Linda Ballou

After nine days of non-stop fun on a multi-sport adventure with Active South America in Costa Rica, floating belly-up in a secluded cove at Playa Coyote gave me a chance to savor the journey. A morning swim in placid waters beneath pastel pink heavens soothed muscles put to tests that included mountain biking, white water rafting, pony trekking, hiking in rain forests, kayaking across blue-green depths to a picnic on a palm-studded island, and a night patrol with turtle conservationists along a strand of deserted beach. These were just a few of the high points of this holiday designed for those who want to breathe deeply of the landscape. Read more...

Adventure Honeymoon in South America

Set the tone for married life together on an adventurous honeymoon,
not a dull resort vacation.

Planning a honeymoon, if you haven't figured out yet, is a bit different than just booking a vacation. The stakes are a bit higher, for a start. And if this is your first big trip together, you might have a bit of negotiation ahead to determine the ideal destination and what constitutes a good time for both bride and groom. For more daring rather than traditional types, an adventure honeymoon in South America could be a chance to do something amazing to bring you even closer together.

But before you start packing for Everest, your honeymoon is probably not the time to launch a full scale expedition. So how about an off-the-beaten-path adventure where someone else takes care of all the logistics and details and all you have to do is show up to enjoy yourselves and each other?

Hike and sea kayak in remote wilderness locations and enjoy lots of dramatic panoramic views, for example, without giving up all the creature comforts of a relaxing vacation such as good food and nice accommodations each night.

We get lots of honeymoon couples who choose one of our South America adventure trips over blobbing out poolside at a 5-star beach resort, and over the years we've even planned a few weddings on our trips. Join us from 8 to 14 days, and nothing on our trips is mandatory, so there's lots of flexibility if one of you is more active than the other.

"It had always been my dream to visit the Galapagos Islands, so we decided to take a trip with ACTIVE for our honeymoon. Although looking forward to seeing all the animals whilst hiking, biking and snorkelling with my husband, I was apprehensive that we would be sharing our experience with thousands of other tourists. Thanks to ACTIVE's wonderfully organized trip and small tour group, we had the most amazing honeymoon. What's more, we were made to feel that we had the islands to ourselves! Thanks ACTIVE for a fantastic adventure in the Galapagos Islands and memories that will stay with us for years to come."

destination wedding at Machu Picchu"ACTIVE SOUTH AMERICA's Jaguar trip vastly exceeded our expectations. The trip was wild, varied and challenging. We saw a significant portion of Peru and were able to do some things we had only been dreaming about before the trip. Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca are definitely fantastic highlights that bookend this trip, but the cycling, dancing, ruins and jungle touring cannot be forgotten. Top to bottom, this trip was fantastic and we could not be more pleased that we opted to make this trip
our wedding and honeymoon."
