"Yes!! Yohn was excellent in all aspects. His communication, level of engagement, listening, keeping the group together etc was par excellence. Overall, he ensured that the trip went off smoothly and everyone had fun."

"You were on the go most of the time - it is after all an ACTIVE trip and not a spectator one. You are involved in the action so be prepared to expend energy along the way. The trip was very well organized. The food was more than just adequate. On the Inca Trail I ate like I was going to a restaurant - my compliments to the chef. The views were spectacular on the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and the Amazon."

How to Book Your South America Trip

Whenever you're ready, it's easy to book over the phone or via email!

We're delighted you're thinking about joining one of our trips! Here's how it works:

1. Check trip availability first. The fastest way to check availability is to call Adrian or Phil. Alternatively, you can fill out our availability request form and we'll call or email you right away.

2. Check international flights and hold seats for now. The earlier you can start looking into flights the better and we're happy to point you in the right direction. Make sure you run your flights past us before you book them. The airlines can get a bit grumpy about making changes, so we want to make sure your flights are right the first time.

If you're coming from the USA, we recommend contacting Liezel and the team at Going Places in San Francisco on 510 848 9000. We don't take a commission from Going Places, which means you'll most likely get a good deal on your flight if you tell them we sent you. They know all about matching up flights with ACTIVE SOUTH AMERICA trips and will do their best to find you the cheapest airfare around.

Keep in mind frequent flier miles can be quite tricky to redeem as these seats are very limited, especially during peak seasons so call early and often if you're hoping for free seats or an upgrade.

3. Whenever you're ready, just say the word! Give us a call or email and we'll go ahead and sign you up. For certain trips, we'll also ask you which options you'd like (for instance if you're looking at our Galapagos trip - the Tortuga - we'll ask whether you'd like the scuba diving or snorkelling option).

4. We'll send you a confirmation email. In the interest of saving a few trees, you'll be able to do almost all your 'paperwork' online. This will contain a booking reference number to access your own unique booking information page with everything you'll need before you travel.

5. We ask for a US$500 per person deposit to keep your spot and then your balance is due 60 days before travel.
