Since I’ve been back from my seven-day vacation in Peru, friends ask me, 'Hey what have you been up to this summer?' I love saying I went to Peru... There's a bit of mystery to it. Not the same as 'Went down to the shore for a week.' I say 'Well, I was in Peru, went to the Amazon Rainforest and stayed in a cool jungle camp with thatched huts and hammocks in front, macaws and parrots flying free, tarantulas in the trees nearby. The jungle was full of boas, anaconda, monkeys and of course lizards of all sizes.' I organized the trip with my new blended family by signing up with Active South America, a really first-rate tour company. We need to congratulate on the choice of Carlos as guide. He did an excellent job! He was able to adapt the trip's itinerary to our needs and the availability of options. He genuinely cared about our well-being and satisfaction. On top of this, he was a very pleasant person to be around, he played with our kids, cared for the poor and old people we encountered and gave us such a wealth of information about the history of Peru and its people and the modern Peru. He even organized a typical American Christmas dinner!

After a lifetime desire of wanting to visit Peru, we finally made it and we weren't disappointed. We cant praise ACTIVE enough! Our guide was patient, knowledgeable and had all the qualities and more needed for an ideal guide. Cynthia made it a memorable experience for all of us. We can't thank everyone involved for making it such a fabulous time for our 4 year old! We'd like to thank ACTIVE for making it possible when we couldn't find a UK company!

We traveled with a five year old and a thirteen year old. It is always a challenge to engage both age groups. This trip engaged both children. Our teenager stated it was his favorite trip and our five year old was entertained and happy throughout the trip. Our tour guide, Cynthia, was a great story teller for the children and ourselves. She was also very accommodating and entertaining. We would highly recommend this trip. Just be ready to be VERY ACTIVE!!!!!!

Had an amazing time discovering Peru from the Amazon jungle basin, to its cities and the Andes mountains filled with Inca ruins. What friendly people live throughout the country from the cities to small villages, everyone makes you feel welcomed even with limited languages in common. My group and trip leader made the experience even better. Great group of people and Cynthia was an excellent trip leader, always happy to help with planning, questions or encouragement. I'm glad I was able to make a dream come true and walk around Machu Picchu and setting foot in the Amazon jungle!

Flew to Lima! Got greeted by the nicest guide, Arturo, who accompanied us during the duration of our stay in Peru. The following 10 days were such an experience: jungle with night animal viewing and tree climbing, Machu Picchu with a breathtaking view, road trip to Puno with a stop at a local market with Alpacas and Llamas, Lake Titicaca with islands full of rich history and a final tour of Lima.
Accommodations were good but the highlights of the trip were the expertise of our guides and the hospitality of the Peruvian people.
thank for all paying attention to detail ACTIVE SOUTH AMERICA.
we will think of you for our future trips.

This trip was awesome. All of the beautiful landscapes and the amazing cultures and arts were cool. I loved all of the llamas, vicunias, and alpacas. I can't believe that I actually went to Peru!

I really enjoyed our guided trip through Peru. All of the details were taken care of and we didn't need to worry about anything. There was a nice variety to the activities and what I felt was the perfect amount of free/rest time. A little more time in the rainforest would have been welcomed. Thanks Active for a great time in Peru!

All in all would recommend this tour. Loved what we saw! Having a guide stay with us the entire tour, in our opinion, was very important. Meals were awesome and even got added perks such a show with dinner and bottles of wine twice! Hotels only so so. Transportation was great! Definitely an adventure!!!!

The variety of experiences, sights and sounds was fantastic! The guide was knowledgable and shared a great deal with us. He also went above and beyond to resolve some challenging situations with luggage and left items. It was a memorable experience for our entire family!
